A safe and exciting introduction to clay shooting for young beginners

This fun and structured course is designed especially for young shooters who are new to the sport. Over the course of three hours, the young shot will learn everything they need to safely and confidently enjoy clay shooting—whether it’s at a charity event or a weekend shoot with family and friends.

The afternoon is carefully tailored to suit the individual, with a strong focus on safety, good habits, and building confidence from the very first shot. During the final session, your child will complete a basic safety and shooting competence check.

Itinerary

13.30: Arrive at Holland & Holland Shooting Grounds, for refreshments.

Division into teams, safety briefing, outline of activities & an introduction to your Holland & Holland instructors.

14.00: Shooting commences

Break – Brownies and squash

17.00: Shooting ends certification ceremony

No previous experience is needed. We provide everything:

A suitable shotgun (matched to size and strength)

Clays & Cartridges

Mandatory safety equipment

A written syllabus and personal logbook

At the end of the course, your young shooter will receive a Certificate of Attendance to mark their progress and success.

The aim of the day is to ensure that each child enjoys a positive and supportive start to their shooting journey—setting them up with the right skills to continue into more advanced training or future game and clay shooting.
