For the last 17 years the Shooting Grounds at Holland & Holland have been under the stewardship of Steve Denny, one of the most respected names in both the clay and game shooting worlds. Steve has been involved in the gun trade for over 40 years, beginning with the management of one of the largest gunshops in the East of England. He then moved on to take up a position as a shooting instructor, and is now rated as one of the foremost in the country. After a long and successful career both as an instructor and as a competitive clay shooter Steve moved into Shooting Ground management and has been responsible for the development and success of a number of renowned venues.

Along with his aptitude for management, Steve’s passion for course design has kept Holland and Holland one of the most exciting and relevant locations in the country with new stands added regularly. His vision has led to a new multimillion pound development which is set to open next year and boasts, among other things, an underground rifle range with cinemagraphic targeting – the first of its kind in the UK!

One of the founding members of the Association of Professional Shooting Instructors (APSI), Steve had the foresight to realise its value to the shooting community in the face of increasing government legislation; he now sits on its management board. He is also a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Gunmakers and a member of BASC and CPSA.
