Holland and Holland

The Green and Silver Feathers courses, designed for women, have become extremely popular over the years. Since the idea was born in 1995, Holland & Holland has introduced thousands of women to shooting.

Holland & Holland’s Green Feathers Course is aimed at women who are new to shooting or who have very limited shooting experience. The Silver Feathers is designed for those who have either completed the Green Feathers, or those who already have some shooting experience.

Full details can be found below.

The Green Feathers

The course takes place between February and late April and is held at our Shooting Grounds in Northwood. Each participant may book three one-hour lessons with one of our renowned instructors, or share three two-hour lessons with a friend or fellow participant. Lessons are by appointment only, Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays available and are tailored to the individual’s needs, whether they have limited experience or have never held a shotgun before.

The course culminates with all contestants meeting for the final day which is spent putting their new found skills to the test in a light-hearted competition over a variety of our clay shooting stands. This will take place on Thursday 25th April 2019. Lunch is provided and there is an opportunity to shoot some simulated pheasant drives and try rifle shooting in the afternoon. The day concludes with tea.

The top-scoring contestant in the Green Feathers Competition will be presented with a prize.

The price for the course is £325, which includes gun hire, safety equipment, 50 cartridges; clays per lesson, and participation on the final day. Before the final day, you can top up your practice by taking advantage of extra lessons at £90 per hour, and cartridges & clays are charged on consumption. These lessons are available on weekdays only.
